 In both OSX 10.5.8 and 10.6.8 the permissions for the directory created
 for logs (/opt/local/var/log/mythtv.25/) do not have the traversal bit set
 and the frontend cannot write logs when started by a non-root user.

 Work Around:

 sudo chmod a+x /opt/local/var/log/mythtv.25/
