 Uninstalling and reinstalling macports did the job.  I'm relieved that
 grace is working but frustrated that I wasted so much time uninstalling
 and reinstalling packages.  Just bad luck that I upgraded my ports in the
 short window when grace was broken, and needed to use grace during that
 time.

 Thanks for fixing it so quickly.
