 Ok, thanks for testing that. I recommend you file a bug report about the
 problem in [https://bugzilla.gnome.org their issue tracker] then, or write
 to [https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gtk-i18n-list their mailing
 list] about it. I doubt the problem is specific to MacPorts. cairo is
 pretty much the backend that programs using pango will expect to always be
 available; I anticipate that trying to disable it would break a lot more
 ports.

 Thanks for noticing that; that wasn't intentional. Fixed in r97589.
