 The version of clang in Xcode 4.3 [http://lists.macosforge.org/pipermail
 /macports-dev/2011-August/015543.html does not honor the LIBRARY_PATH
 environment variable] like newer versions of clang (and all versions of
 gcc that we've been using) do. So perhaps it's just a matter of getting
 the right -L flag in there.
