 Unfortunately the patch does not apply cleanly to the version of
 qpngio.cpp in MacPorts, but completely replacing the file with

 andrew/qt3/blob/fcdbfafcb17fcc1958bd25c08894cff08b1e4341/src/kernel/qpngio.cpp
 seems to works.
