 Can someone please summarize the state of gcc on ppc?  AIUI, the only
 issue currently is with 4.7 and 4.8, right?

 @darylew, your comment a few weeks ago make it sound like you got at least
 4.7 to build.  If that's the case, can you please provide a patch to the
 Portfile?
