apple-gcc42 port to install on my 10.8.1 MBP (build fails with wrong
architecture errors).
Ok, I got apple-gcc42 installed on my 10.8.1 MBP. Cleaned and configured

expected", so this does seem to be a viable work-around. As to the root
cause...?
