 To clarify, my understanding is that in order to force a single common
 libstdc++ package on all of the stable gcc4x releases[[BR]]
 the libgcc_ext linkage was gutted from the linkage. This is an extremely
 high price to pay for dubious packaging benefits. Without[[BR]]
 posted gcc-testresults for these MacPorts packages, the amount of breakage
 this causes, in even just the libstdc++ testsuite results, is[[BR]]
 unknown. The assumption that a newer libstdc++ can be used with an older
 FSF gcc compiler and not introduce regressions is unproven.[[BR]]
