 I'm guessing that the developers of metis starting using the option `-Wno-
 unused-but-set-variable` in 5.1.0 to suppress some errors they didn't want
 to see, not realizing that this flag may not be compatible with older
 versions of gcc such as the one you're using in Xcode 3.2.6. You should
 report this problem to the developers of metis so that they can fix it.
