#38833: gcc4* (gcc47/gcc48 at least) - future/promise code always fails with

It seems any code using `std::future` or `std::promise` will fail with a
segmentation fault. My searching for answers led to the question on
StackOverflow. It seems many people have this problem.

As far as I know, such code does not even compile on Windows (w/ MinGW).
On Linux, such code works very well. On Mac, it compiles but then fails.

I do not think the OS/Xcode version matters. Just for the record, the info
 is as below:

 OS: OS X 10.7.5[[BR]]
 Xcode: 10.6.1
