 I had a problem with libgcc which hung when trying to install but I
 finally got it installed. Now gcc47 hangs interminably. I just tried for
 two hours to install & cpp was working (taking up 93% of the CPU) but it
 seemed stuck.

 Surely this can't be right. How long is the usual install time?

 Also, I never installed either of these ports so I'm mystified as to why
 they're there in the first place.
