 The first error in the log is:

 error: redefinition of a 'extern inline' function 'argp_fmtstream_write'
 is not supported in C99 mode
 }}}

 So the first thing I'd try is to have the portfile tell the build system
 to use C89 instead (since C89 was the default with older compilers but C99
 is the default with clang).
