 Good memory (or searching)!

 That was 2 years ago. Back then the problem was that a rogue libpng-config
 in /usr/bin/ was being found instead of the MacPorts one, and it didn't
 work, causing PNG support to be silently disabled in gd2.

 Are those of you experiencing the problem building from source or using
 our binary packages? Do you have any libpng-config in /usr/bin/?
