 OK, so I'm closing the ticket. Just to make myself clear: there is
 absolutely no problem to add support for Python 2.6 if anyone needs it,
 but there are some 6 years old tickets still open here which ask for
 solving problems with Python 2.4 or 2.5 just because that used to be the
 default version back then. And if Python 2.7 works fine, I would prefer to
 stick with that one.
