 Mac OS 10.7.5; XCode 4.5 with Command Line Tools installed; MacPorts
 2.2.1.  Computer is a MacBook Pro; uname -a produces:
 Darwin Macbook.local 11.4.2 Darwin Kernel Version 11.4.2: Thu Aug 23
 16:25:48 PDT 2012; root:xnu-1699.32.7~1/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64

 Preparing to install some software using Macports, I typed in the command
 {{{
 sudo port install readline +universal ncurses +universal gawk wget xorg-
 libX11 xorg-libXaw
 }}}
 All went well until it got to gawk, which produced the following error
 message:
 Error: Cannot install gawk for the arch(s) 'x86_64' because
 Error: its dependency readline is only installed for the archs 'i386 ppc'.
 Error: Unable to execute port: architecture mismatch

 Can you advise me on how to proceed?
