 I also was trying to install kile, and spent an embarrassingly long time
 trying to figure out what was going wrong before finding my way to this
 ticket.  Is there any way a comment can be added to the information that
 one sees when one types "port search kile" or "port info kile"?  Something
 to the effect of "Kile is very old.  Only install if you know what you are
 doing.  Otherwise try kde4-kile."
