 Yeah, this happened to me building with a number of compilers, directly
 from source by hand as well ... was wondering if compiling w/ SDL support
 (from MacPorts) would be a way around this, but I can't get Qemu to
 compile w/ SDL support, and config.log isn't very helpful for figuring out
 why ... or I'm missing something.

 Done.  Reported Qemu bug ID #1260555.
