New description:

 The port description ("port info tesseract") should indicate the necessity
 of two manual install steps after "port install tesseract":

   1. {{{export TESSDATA_PREFIX=/opt/local/share}}}
   1. add at least one language file (e.g. eng.traineddata); see comment at
 bottom of [[http://code.google.com/p/tesseract-ocr/wiki/ReadMe|this]] page

 I've found these two steps necessary when installing tesseract @3.02.02_0
 with MacPorts 2.2.1 on OS X 10.9.
