Comment:

 The octave port was updated to 3.6.4 last month (r114034). To receive this
 and all other changes made since then, run:

 {{{
 sudo port selfupdate
 sudo port upgrade outdated
 }}}

 Then, if you don't already have octave installed, you can just:

 {{{
 sudo port install octave
 }}}
