 This would easily be solved if pTeX was providing just add-ons on top of
 TeX Live instead of providing a standalone distribution conflicting with
 TeX Live (and providing the same files on different places).

 There are a lot of ways to fix this particular issue at hand, but none of
 them is really worth spending time on other than a proper integration of
 pTeX.
