 port installed octave-devel | grep active
 }}}
 does not return something that includes +fltk, then you need to install
 octave-devel including the +fltk variant; this variant is not enabled by
 default, and it was not enabled in the "portinstalled" list you provided
 above. Please verify this; if not, then do:
 {{{
 sudo port install octave-devel +fltk +accelerate +gcc47
 }}}
 or whatever variants you wish but including +fltk.
