 Yes; OK; interesting. Maybe something else is going on than what I
 suspect. Can you post the new "qtdirs.mk" file?

 Then do:
 {{{
 rm -rf qtdirs.app qtdirs.o
 make -f qtdirs2.mk
 qtdirs.app/Contents/MacOS/qtdirs
 }}}
