 I'm willing to help, only ... would you be willing to help me complete the
 Portfile if I start with something CMake-based that works and then you
 help me add the zillion of options?

 I'm aware that it means a big change, but switching to Root 6 alone is a
 big change on its own. So it feels like the perfect timing to do that,
 also because Geant4, CLHEP, Gate and other similar/related projects all
 switched to CMake.
