Comment:

 I don't understand, should the portgroup be setting
 CMAKE_OSX_ARCHITECTURES for FSF compilers or not? Or do you mean it should
 be "stripping them out" of something else? As Ryan said, configure.fflags
 and friends don't contain -arch ever.
