 I have just spent some rather frustrating hours trying to solve this
 issue. I ended up installing sextractor directly from the source and using
 code referenced
 [http://www.astromatic.net/forum/printthread.php?tid=587&page=3 at the
 bottom of this page] to modify the configure file. There is a typo in the
 above comment that threw me off when I tried to do this a different way
 and I note that the above link is broken. In any case, I thought it
 useful, for complete transparency, to reproduce the actual fix that worked
 below:

 {{{sudo sed -i '' -E -e 's/-llapack|-lcblas|-latlas|-lptcblas/-ltatlas/'
 ./configure}}}

 I would second the notion that it would be nice to see this changed in
 portfile so as to avoid this headache.
