Comment:

 The ini file attached here sets mysql.default_socket,
 mysqli.default_socket and pdo_mysql.default_socket to the path to the
 mysql5 port's socket file, but we don't know that that's the version of
 MySQL server the user is running. They could be instead running mysql51 or
 mysql55 or mariadb or percona. The user needs to set up their ini file to
 match their setup. Clarified this by rewording the message in r102051.
