New description:

 I was having difficulty maintaining connections to news.supernews.com with
 this version of slrn. I noticed there's a new version of slrn (1.0.1) that
 was released 12/2012. I tried that, and it seems to work fine. I think
 just refreshing the port might do the trick.

 Example:

 Run slrn and try to subscribe to comp.text.tex. Try to download all the
 current articles. It works for awhile and then:

 Server connection to news.supernews.com lost.  Cannot recover.
 }}}
