Sorry, my mistake.
As to your other points:
I've always run DHCP with fixed addresses. My HDHR3 has had the same
address for the last three years.
For the last week and a half I've been running mythtv on Intel
(significant other needed some appeasement) against the same HDHR3 ( I'm
careful that when I'm testing the Intel box isn't using/needing it). It
has no problems.
