 Well, the ability to set delete_la_files in macports.conf is undocumented
 for a reason. The only good reason to change it from the default is if you
 installed an older version of base on Mavericks and don't want to rebuild
 all your ports yet. So yeah, if you change it, you're responsible for
 dealing with the consequences, like not being able to use the standard
 archives.
