 Bash has 3 small, additional patches which brings it to to 4.2.45. The
 patches have been around since March so I guess major pain have been
 ironed out in upstream by now.

 See the attached patch for the port. The local port did build fine and
 I've been using this bash version as my standard shell for some days now.
 (although no heavy testing)

 Environment: OS X 10.8.4, Xcode 4.6.2
