 Sorry for the delayed response. To be honest, I am not sure why the
 python27 varient was changed, I was told to change the Portfile to the one
 attached because it has been shown to work in the past.  Just out of
 curiosity I changed everything back to the original Portfile and tried to
 recompile the same way as before (sudo port -v install plplot +python27),
 but it seems like the same error occurred.  I have attached the log file
 again in case it is helpful.
