 I could solve the issue by deleting the directory /Developer, which seems
 to be left over from an older installation of Xcode. The new one,
 installed via Mac App Store, resides in /Applications/Xcode.app.[[BR]]
 After deleting the directory I could install virtualbox without any
 errors. Strange.

 Thanks a lot for your help, I would never have guessed that could be the
 problem.
