 I know what the fontforge port contains; I thought you were asking how to
 launch fontconfig. But after I wrote my comment, you edited yours to
 include information from the Console showing org.macosforge.xquartz.startx
 failed to start. The best way to get help is probably to write to the
 macports-users mailing list. This issue tracker is for bug reports; so
 far, I'm not sure what you're describing is a bug.
