Comment:

 Sorry this ticket has sat here for so long. I've committed the port in
 r104141 with these changes:

  * removed python support; please file a new ticket to add python support,
 considering Frank's advice about offering variants for different versions
 of python
  * added zlib dependency and configure args for the zlib and bzip2
 dependencies just like you had added a configure arg for the libxml2
 dependency
  * indicated the license
  * enabled parallel building since it seems to be fine with this version
  * used newer checksum types
  * rewrote sourceforge master_sites to avoid redirects
  * fixed livecheck
