So this is specific to the +wxpython variant.
I see the same issue exists with the +gtk2 variant and the nonexistent
py3x-pygtk subports of py-pygtk.
None of these ports have maintainers, so someone will have to step up to
figure out whether py3x subports can be added to py-pygtk and py-wxpython,
or whether the +gtk2 and/or +wxpython variants should be removed from
py3x-matplotlib.
