 I get a complete log file when I run the command
 {{{
 sudo port -kd upgrade atlas
 }}}
 (the -d option added). I also appended {{{&> termout.txt}}} to the
 command; I suppose I shouldn't dismiss the possibility that redirecting
 output has some kind of side affect.
