Comment (by ryandesign@…):

I use "invalid" when there is nothing we need to change in MacPorts. In
this case, a change ''was'' needed in MacPorts to work around the problem
so that users would no longer experience it, so I call that "fixed". When
we release MacPorts 2.2, we'll want to have an entry in the ChangeLog
and/or NEWS file mentioning that this problem is fixed, and we'll refer to
this ticket. It would be weird for a fix to show up in the ChangeLog or
NEWS but to refer to an "invalid" ticket.

Compare with the [ticket:13930 Leopard Tcl bug that makes unsetting
environment variables fail], or the many cases where we [ticket:30041
blacklist older compiler versions] which fail to build a particular port.
These reports weren't "invalid" either. They were bugs in non-MacPorts
components provided by Apple, but we worked around them in MacPorts and
thereby "fixed" the problems the users reported.
