 With mpclang33 it took 6 hours on my 3-4 year old Macbook Pro. I don't
 remember it taking more than an hour with gcc. This is a significant
 drawback for clang builds and will result in a lot of complaints from
 users if it becomes the default. I also don't know how the atlas
 computational efficiencies compare between gcc and clang builds.
