 The culprit is this: the AVX detection routine works only on 10.7 or
 higher but not on 10.6 (because it uses a kernel sysctl that did not exist
 before 10.7): I wasn’t expecting someone could run SnowLeopard on such a
 new hardware. I’ll update in a few moments when I figure out a workaround.
