 I experienced the same problem on Mountain Lion with MacPorts 2.1.3 and
 XCode 4.6.2
 Although I have not checked whether it correctly works or not, I could
 build successfully by applying a patch that was provided at the upstream
 bug report : http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/ticket/1843

 Please check the difference of the Portfile and the patch file.
