 The new version of gource brings caption support which I like to try.

 Some remarks I found out so far while I build it by my own:
 * It needs at least gcc47
 * it uses boost which was build with the same compiler version

 For some more informations have a look at
 https://code.google.com/p/gource/issues/detail?id=192 where I described in
 detail what I tried and what is the possible solution. However I have no
 idea how to compiler boost via MP with another compiler without break
 everything else.
