 For folks having this issue, I think the following should work:
 {{{
 sudo port -f uninstall GraphicsMagick
 sudo port install GraphicsMagick configure.compiler=macports-gcc-4.8
 sudo port clean octave-devel
 sudo port install octave-devel +gcc48 configure.compiler=macports-gcc-4.8
 }}}
 I'm working on a clang/clang solution too.
