 Yes, it happens regardless of other processes running..there is a minor
 performance note just before the crash, but I doubt it is directly linked:
 2013-11-12 07:43:03.979 qtiplot[70690:507] CoreText performance note:
 Client called CTFontCreateWithName() using name "Lucida Grande" and got
 font with PostScript name "LucidaGrande". For best performance, only use
 PostScript names when calling this API.

 a breakpoint on CTFontLogSuboptimalRequest to debug.
