 I knew removing those flags would come back to bite me. I'll test a fix
 tomorrow morning (when I'm running 10.9 again). It's something to do with
 how QMake is being built, but I've never been able to figure out where or
 why this happens. It's easiest to do what you did and just void the flags
 in the environment.
