 Autotools: make check ... CMake: make test ... so, yes, "make check" :)

 I have not tried the GUI yet. Not enough time in the day ;)

 I will attach to this ticket a diff between the (new) current octave
 Portfile and that which provides "octave-next" for folks to try out.
 Hopefully later today but I have work to do for a while now ...
