 Please post a log of what you get from the ./configure step when you build
 ROOT by hand. My bet is it is then using the XQuartz provided X11
 libraries, whereas the MacPorts build (intentionally) forces the use of
 the MacPorts X11 libraries. I don't have access to anything other than
 OSX10.9 systems, so I'm afraid I cannot debug this myself.

 Please also post what you get with the command
