Finally, I managed to fix that error!
Just add a line to the port file:
'''configure.cxxflags-append -ftemplate-depth-1024'''
since this template depth seems to be sufficient. The reason, why the
vigra does not compile from scratch with clang-5.0 may be due to a
different (implicit) setting for the max. recursion depth between v.4.2
and v.5.0.
I'd highly appreciate, if anybody with writing privileges adds this line
to the port file (e.g. after configure.args-append). This bug should be
marked as fixed afterwards!

clang version 3.1, maybe this flag is also available in clang-5?
