 I was able to install grass with +ffmpeg today on a Mac OS X 10.8.

   grass @6.4.3_0+ffmpeg+postgresql91+sqlite3+wxPython+wxwidgets (active)

  I would assume this was solved with the update to @6.4.3. I is probably
 okay an 10.5 as well, as this was only a configure issue. So maybe this
 ticket could be closed?
