 Installation of gperf +universal fails with "C compiler cannot create
 executables"

 ....

 I attempted to use different compilers as instructed in the hotlist
 (cleaning between each attempt):

 $ sudo port install gperf +universal configure.compiler=apple-gcc-4.2
 $ sudo port install gperf +universal configure.compiler=llvm-gcc-4.2
 }}}

 Same results.

 OS: OSX 10.7.5[[BR]]
 Processor: Intel Core i7[[BR]]
 Xcode Version:  4.6.2 (4H1003)[[BR]]
