 With regard to the impact on ffmpeg, it looks like fixing jack may take
 some time.  Am I correct in understanding that this is a Mavericks only
 issue?  If so I will disable the jack functionality in ffmpeg and ffmpeg-
 devel for that platform only until the jack issue is resolved.
